Could this be the end is hardly contemplated until it is the end. The life that is lived is often thought and ran in the present without the concept of temporal habitation. Everything seems pertinent until it is abruptly not. When the stop clock that one forgets is even running is abruptly ended for many there is a rude awakening that it could be too late. The question of what was the purpose of one’s life becomes an exercise of reflection and hindsight rather than a proactive, strategic way ahead. The lights go out and the Maker is met. What will be the fate is only known at the very predestined time. The road to mercy is gifted to those who accept yet with surrender comes submission of obedience.
The life that is a mere blowing in the wind and then gone can have many distractions. The test will be if the intimate relationship is ever established. Once there is a connection, then it will become yielding to His Spirit. Upon devotion, the fruit will come and generate job through His fellowship. Many will believe and claim that they are right with the One who gave life; however, when the time comes realize He was just a sideshow in their busy life that became too important for Him. The car is skidding off the road. The heart is pounding in the chest with sharp pain causing numbness in the body’s extremities. The foreign tumor is metastastizing with only a short time left irrespective of one’s wishes. Another loses one’s breath unexpectedly from the ruthlessness of another. We do not know when that time will come. Instead, of thinking about the here and now, the mundane pleasantries or concerns that are worldly, remember why you were born. Come to realize that you are made for one true purpose – to love Jesus Christ. To love Jesus means to be all in. To give-up the sins that are keeping you away from connection with Him. To surrender your fears, worries, and desire to control your life. Give it over to Him. He will direct you in peace. He will, in the end, welcome you to your final home, and recognize you as one of His. Do not lose sight of why you are here today. Change your life and perspective to live for Him and meet Him with open arms whenever that time arrives that He wants you. You are here temporarily in a world that disappoints, fades, and will be renewed. Be a part of that regeneration, instead of being burned in a fire that never dies.
